Yaa Anima witnessed firsthand the challenges of erratic, expensive electricity supply in Ghana, inspiring her to pursue engineering to address the energy crisis. With a BSc in Materials Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and an MSc in Materials Science and Engineering from the Beijing University of Chemical Technology, she is currently pursuing her PhD in Nuclear Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University where her research focuses on nuclear fuels, safeguards and nonproliferation.
Anima is passionate about STEM education advocacy and a staunch member of WiN Ghana and Penn State, ANS, and Graduate Women in Science.
