This poster will showcase experiences and lessons learned through identification and evaluation of Hofstede’s national cultural dimensions on a site’s nuclear security culture. Over the past 24 months, multiple international nuclear security experts have gathered together and contributed to the research and development of an important document that highlights common cultural components that are well aligned with International Atomic Energy Agency guidance on nuclear security culture. This poster will share with the INMM audience examples and important lessons learned by considering national culture and how it may affect nuclear security. This poster will display a portion of the document that has been created through this research. These learned, and shared experiences will better prepare the next generation nuclear leader, providing a platform to better consider, understand, and incorporate culture into their organization.
